Grant Savvy is a designed as a practical know-how blog for grant writing and proposal development. Through Grant Savvy, April Northstrom of Pathway Associates (dba Jigsaw Communications, Inc.) shares advice about building the proposal process, engaging in relationships with funders and sustaining a working grant program. Splashed with an optimistic and honest voice about nonprofit management, leadership and public administration, Grant Savvy is meant to be a place for thoughtful exchanges about grant writing in the nonprofit world.

April Northstrom works as a professional grant writer and nonprofit consultant to help organizations build revenue resources. Her experience includes work in development and nonprofit communications creating diverse fundraising campaigns and developing donor programs.

Ms. Northstrom’s nonprofit expertise has been honed with organizations such as the American Red Cross, Goodwill Industries, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and a host of organizations focused on social services, arts education, music and health care. Her broad spectrum of experience in the nonprofit arena has provided her with the skills to benefit both large and small organizations.

April graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Communications and Psychology, earned her Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from The Fund Raising School at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University and is completing a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Utah.
